Founder Showcase Pitch Competition: Quarterfinalist

Applications are no longer being accepted for the 8th Founder Showcase. However, affordable tickets and entries into the Demo Table Competition are available.

The 8th Founder Showcase is scheduled for November 8th at the Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco, and will feature a Keynote Speech from Michael Arrington - General Partner at the CrunchFund and Founder of TechCrunch. Any early-stage company that is less than 2 years old, with less than $250k USD in funding is invited to apply to the Founder Showcase Pitch Competition. Plus, you'll even get $50 in Elance Credit just for applying!

You will need to submit a video for entry. Don't freak out - this is a seed-stage startup competition, so "ghetto" videos are just fine (ex. webcam of you talking, or a video of you pitching your company elsewhere). There are no tight requirements on the video, but the best format is 3 - 5 minutes, covering the following topics:;

1. What does your company do, and what need does it serve?
2. Describe the market where you will compete.
3. What makes you unique compared to your competition? In other words, what is your secret sauce?
4. Where are you in your growth plans?
5. Who are you/ your team?
6. What are you asking for?
7. SHOW PRODUCT!

Online public voting that takes place prior to the voting deadline of 11:59pm PST on Sunday, October 16th, 2011 will play a major, but not sole, part in deciding the top 25 companies who advance to the Quarterfinal Round of the Competition.

We take pride in showing the most promising seed-stage technology companies at the Founder Showcase, and this is the first time we have opened up voting to the general public - so we reserve a level of internal judgement.

These Quarterfinalists will be privately notified on Monday, October 17th. Over the following two weeks, the Quarterfinalists will undergo evaluation and be narrowed down to 15 Semifinalists, and then the 10 Finalists who are invited to attend and pitch at the event for free. Semifinalists are invited to attend the event for free as consolation.
